Camp Abilities Brockport is administered and managed by a variety of staff who devote a tremendous amount of time, energy, effort, and other resources each year to ensure that camp is always a success for not only the athletes who attend but everyone else involved as well. Director - Lauren Lieberman
Lauren Lieberman, PhD, earned her doctorate in adapted physical education at Oregon State University with an emphasis on sensory impairments. She taught at Perkins School for the Blind. Lieberman is currently a professor and teaches APE at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. She has co-authored several books including: Strategies for Inclusion, Games for People with Sensory Impairments, Going Places: Transition Guidelines for Physical Activity for Children with Visual Impairments, Paraeducators in Physical Education, and continues to do research in this area. Assistant Director - Tiffany Mitrakos
Tiffany Mitrakos, MEd, earned her Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Education from The College at Brockport. She also earned second Master’s degree to be a teacher for the visually impaired at The University of Northern Colorado, and is employed through the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This will be Tiffany’s eighth summer with Camp Abilities Brockport. Tiffany has presented at state and national conferences in the field of physical education and has helped with the development of two videos involving teaching children with visual impairments. Tiffany was named Adapted Physical Education Student of the Year 2011. Brockport’s Master’s Student of the Year for the School of Health and Human performance and APAC’s National Master’s Student of the Year 2011. She is also the Director of Camp Abilities Saratoga.
Graduate Assistants - Alex Stribing & Lily Jagodzinski
Alex Stribing earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in the Fall of 2014 at the College at Brockport, where she will be returning to pursue her Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Education. Alex has been a part of Camp Abilities Brockport since 2010. She has also worked at Camp Abilities Saratoga as a sport specialist in 2014 2015 and 2016. This will be Alex's second summer as the Camp Abilities Brockport Graduate Assistant. Alex will graduate in May of 2017 with her Master's Degree.
Lily Jagodzinski earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, with a concentration in Adapted PE, in the Spring of 2016 at The College at Brockport. She is currently enrolled in the same college, where she is working towards her Master's degree in Adapted Physical Education. Lily has been part of Camp Abilities Brockport since 2013, where she has worked as a counselor and Gymnastics/Tandem Biking Specialist. This is Lily's first year as on of the Camp Abilities Brockport Graduate Assistants and will graduate in May 2018 with her Master's degree.

Co Aquatic and Boating Directors - Emily Gilbert & Maria Lepore-Stevens
Jeff Yellen is one of our tandem biking and goalball specialists and has been involved in Camp Abilities since the summer of 2009. He has served as the Camp Abilities Graduate Assistant at Brockport from 2010-2012 while earning his Master’s degree in Adapted PE. In addition to Brockport, he has been to Camp Abilities in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Jeff has worked as an Adapted PE teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia since Fall of 2012.
Tim has been a part of Camp Abilities programs for the past six years. Tim helped start Camp Abilities Nebraska in 2012. In addition to Brockport and helping start Nebraska, he has been a sports specialist at Camp Abilities Nebraska, Texas and Saratoga Springs. Tim is one of our tandem biking and aquatics Specialists.
Charles Roselle is one of our track and field & aquatics specialists. This is his fifth year with Camp Abilities Brockport.
Sheila Parks and Kate Gian are our Camp nurses, keeping everyone healthy!
Lisa Hanson is in her tenth year at Camp Abilities Brockport. She has taught Orientation and Mobility in Texas for the past 21 years. Lisa is one of our O&M Specialist and "Braille Queen!". Lisa is the director of Camp Abilities Texas.
Erin Weaver is a Teacher of the Blind & Visually Impaired and an Orientation & Mobility Specialist. She is one of our "Braille Queens"! This is her seventh year at Camp Abilities Brockport. She will also be volunteering at Camp Abilities Long Island and Saratoga, and is planning to bring Camp Abilities to Rhode Island!
David Briggs is one of our track and field and gymnastics specialists.
Emily Gilbert is one of our beep baseball and aquatics specialists. This is Emily's 5th summer with Camp Abilities Brockport. Emily is also a specialist and the Aquatics Director for Camp Abilities Saratoga.
Meghan Fink is a one of our beep baseball and goalball specialists. Meghan is a member of the Long Island Bombers Beep Baseball team.
Lauren Schriner is one of our track & field and gymnastics specialists.
Maria Lepore-Stevens is one of our track & field and aquatics specialists. Maria is the Assistant Director of Camp Abilities PA at West Chester University and the Director of Camp Abilities Arizona & Delaware.
Mike Fortner is one of our tandem biking and aquatics specialists.
Tina Fetten & Jared Callahan are our Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) specialists.
Lily Jagodzinski is one of our gymnastics specialists and will be also helping with tandem biking. Lily is a member of Brockport Women's Gymnastics team. Lily will be one of the GAs next summer!
Melissa Pierce will be helping with SUP and is also one of our gymnastics specialists. Melissa is a professor in the KSSPE department at Brockport.
Erin Kavanagh is an O&M instructor and will being serving as our O&M Specialist and helping with SUP.

Volunteers are pooled from physical education and special education undergraduate and graduate programs across the United States and overseas. Volunteers can click here if they are interested in becoming a counselor for the upcoming camp.
